About MyFoodAnalysis

A food data project that started with curiosity: what is actually in the food we eat, and what can you learn when you can see all of it at once?

USDA FoodData Central brings together analytical measurements, reference tables, survey data and manufacturer label information. Nutrient coverage varies by record: some have detailed amino acids and fatty acids, while others have only a few label values. MyFoodAnalysis makes this data easier to explore, with food pages, serving controls, nutrient rankings and a Food Finder that filters generic foods by several nutrients at once.

It is free to use: no sign-up needed to explore. Reported values come from USDA; our estimates are labeled with their assumptions. How we build this explains the processing, checks and known limitations. Our data curation code is open source; the website and API service are not.

Who we are

MyFoodAnalysis is made by ObjectGraph, in New York City. Food data is not new to us: in 2009 we helped Vistrada build MetabolicPro for GMDI (Genetic Metabolic Dietitians International), a diet-analysis tool that metabolic dietitians use to analyze recipes down to single amino acids.
